The CMM3 is designed to protect the Power Over Ethernet (POE) communications lines for Motorola Canopy Radio System arrays. Incorporating shielded RJ45 jacks, the protector circuit consists of dedicated 13V silicon avalanche suppressor diodes (SASD’s) for the Ethernet pins (1,2,3 and 6) and dedicated 30V SASD’s for the 24V POE pins (4,5 and 7,8). These SASD circuits provide the lowest voltage protection and fastest response time possible resulting in the highest radio interface integrity. Each of the eight (8) individual POE protection circuits are protected relative to the internal ground terminal, which is intended to be bonded to the best possible local ground system. The communications circuits plug into the CMM3 in series through RJ45 connectors arranged in horizontal pairs, stacked vertically on the protection assembly. This robust protection assembly is housed inside a non-metallic enclosure with bottom fed grommet ports for easy wiring and installation. For optimum protection, the internal Ground Terminal must be connected to the most effective (lowest impedance) earth ground available. The unit is provided with a powder coated metal back panel for ease of installation and mounting.
