Main advantages and features of Colubris based solution
- Full scale “Hot-Spot in the box” solution
- Simplified installation
- Minimum additional equipment required (equipment listed below)
- Easy Client service
- Easy maintenance and setup
- Reasonable scalability (up to 6 AP sin the cluster, including controller AP)
- Controller, Firewall, Router, SNMP management and real time monitoring integrated together inside of MSC3300 and MSC3200 units
- Versions available for indoor and outdoor installations
- Indoor and outdoor units can be easily mixed together under single controller AP management (outdoor controllers are available)
- Platform has optional WiFi (indoor and outdoor) clients to serve remote customers, beyond standard WiFi card reach ability
- Supports several QoS standards to ensure VoIP quality
- Standard 802.3af POE is supported over the entire platform

Typical operation scenario
Scenario: “Single Controller”
- Colubris MSC3200/3300 Controller allows fast and easy deploymentof small area Hot-Spot with ability to split wireless network to several profiles -Virtual Service Communities (VSCs).
- Different VSCscan be configured to provide clear connection to the Internet for certain groups of clients (Preferred Customers, internal stuff etc.) without any kind of Authorization, while other ones need to be authorized via Web-interface
- Variety of security settings, bandwidth control, and firewallingcould be engaged per profile for particular customer group
- Visitor Management Tool helps to simplify over the counter WiFiservice sales. VMT is instantly deployable in various situations even on the laptop
Scenario: “Extended Coverage”
- Colubris MSC3300 with integrated dual radio architecture provides simple deployment options for hot-spots of larger dimensions, which cannot be covered by single access point
- All devices of Colubris platform allow use of “b, b/g”or “a”standard on each of radio module. That offers outstanding flexibility with frequency planning and wireless re-distribution of connectivity between APs
- Each WDS (wireless distribution system) cluster can contain up to 6 APs. Sophisticated configurations of distributed hot-spots become and easy and straight forward task
