Motorola Canopy Wireless 5.8 GHz Bundles, Startup and Demo kits

Motorola offers several special Canopy Demonstration Kits for its customers. These kits are all inclusive packages designed to enable distributors, resellers and end-customers to experience the Canopy solution first hand at a very cost-effective price. The demonstration kits are available for purchase directly from Canopy Authorized Distributors and Resellers.

The Canopy 400 Series AP and SM products operate in the 5.4 GHz spectrum. In many parts of the world, this newly available spectrum gives operators 255 MHz of usable frequency band - that’s almost double the amount available in the 5.7 GHz band. The Canopy 400 Series offers a fast, cost-conscious way to enter this exciting and advantageous spectrum.

The CMM is a critical element in the operation of the Canopy system. At one AP cluster site or throughout an entire wireless system, the CMM provides a GPS timing pulse to each module, synchronizing the network transmission cycles.
Without this pulse, an AP is unsynchronized, and a BH timing master cannot synchronize a BH timing slave. An unsynchronized module may transmit during a receive cycle of other modules. This can cause one or more modules to receive an undesired signal that is strong enough to make the module insensitive to the desired signal (become desensed).

The SM is the subscriber termination unit or the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). It consists of a single module that operates with an integrated 60-degree antenna. Each SM can communicate to a single AP Module at any given time. SM synchronization and control is accomplished via the received AP signal. SMs are typically located outdoor and Line of Sight (LOS) from the APs. Once the SM is initialized, it scans the Radio Frequency (RF) channels and automatically registers with the appropriate AP.
