Satel SATELLINE-3AS NMS introduces SATEL’s new concept of remotely manageable radio modems. In addition to ordinary communication functions it exhibits configuration through radio, efficient diagnostics tools and accumulation of operation statistics data. The management and surveillance of a network of 3AS NMS radio modems is effected through the Master Station connected by a serial interface to a PC with dedicated Network Management software. Long-term logs of the operational data on the SATEL NMS PC facilitate follow-up of trends and regularly occurring events. The Network Management System provides easy configuration of the network and advance indication of faults, for maximum reliability, labour-saving maintenance work and efficient system management.

Satel SATELLINE-3AS Epic NMS exhibits a high power (10 W) transmitter and two receivers operated in a Diversity Reception mode. The Diversity Reception improves the reliability of the connection where there is a lot of signal fading caused by reflections. The high output power and the Diversity Reception make it possible to more than double the connection distances in comparison to ordinary SATELLINE-3AS NMS radio modems with 1 W output power.

SATELLINE-3AS is a half-duplex radio modem suitable for a variety of data transfer applications, in particular ones demanding high speed and precision. In addition to the maximum data speed 19.2 kbps and channel spacing 25 kHz or 12.5 kHz, it offers a number of features and functions. Message Routing is a new feature in SATELLINE-3AS modems, which makes it easier to build up a large radio modem network. The SATELLINE-3AS software includes a selectable error correction, which improves the functioning of the radio modem under interference. SATELLINE-3AS is compatible with the interface types RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485. Without changing the hard-ware all the parameter settings of the radio modem can be modified through the interface from a PC. The model SATELLINE-3ASd is equipped with a LCD display of its own, which facilitates programming of the radio modem.

Satel SATELLINE-2ASxE complies with the European Specification ETS 300 113. The user has a few available alternative channel spacings; 12.5 kHz, 20 kHz or the 25 kHz The frequency band in use is the center frequency +/-1 MHz, which means that the number of possible radio channels with channel spacing 12.5/20 or 25 kHz is 160/100 or 80, respectively. The maximum data speed is 4800 bit/s with channel spacings 12.5 and 20 kHz, and 9600 bit/s with the 25 kHz channel spacing.

The SATELLINE-2ASc is a small and light-weight radio modem used for a variety of applications involving half- duplex transfer of data messages. It features a synthesized radio, operating in the 400... 470 MHz frequency range. The frequency band in use is the center frequency +/- 1 MHz, which means that the number of possible radio channels is 80. SATELLINE-2ASc is compatible with interface type RS-232 which facilitates easy connection to various data terminals and systems.
