The J8177C gigabit copper mini-GBIC is not supported on dual-personality ports.
The J8177C is capable of 100-Megabit operation. This is supported on only the ProCurve series 8200zl, 5400zl, and 6200yl switches using software version K.12.21 or later. Use the "auto-100" port setting to enable 100-Megabit operation.
Important: The earlier J8177B does not support 100-Megabit operation!
When used in the ProCurve Switch gl 20-Port 10/100/1000 Module (J4908A), the J8177C mini-GBIC can be installed in either the upper or lower mini-GBIC port, but will block access to the other port.
