Wireless Access Point

The Broadband Gateway is an access point which provides wireless LAN connectivity. Acting as a bridge, the BG-2000 has two 10/100 Base-T Ethernet ports and a Wi-Fi radio, simultaneously supporting wireless and wired stations. This makes it a cost effective networking solution for homes and small offices. The BG-2000 is fully interoperable with Wi-Fi certified solutions. Also due to its superior receiver sensitivity (ears) and resilience to microwave interference, ORiNOCO has proven to be the best 802.11b radio in the industry providing unbeatable performance results in range and throughput.

Internet access that is safe

As a gateway the BG-2000 can share a single broadband Internet connection (xDSL, Cable or

ISDN) with multiple stations using Network Address Translation (NAT), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) and Virtual Private Networking (VPN). A firewall, access control and WEP encryption enable set up of secure networks in homes, preventing eavesdropping as well as hacker access to local networks. Additionally remote office workers can set up secure tunnels with multiple stations at the same time for accessing their corporate networks using VPN passthrough (PPTP, L2TP and IP Sec).

Ease of use

The BG-2000 is configurable through a standard Web browser. Network Administrators can centrally manage the BG-2000, via Telnet-based command line interface and SNMP MIB browser. The BG-2000 also supports TFTP for unattended uploads of new software.
