   Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, $7.2 billion were directed to the Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) to expand broadband access in rural areas.

    We want to assist our customers in gathering all the necessary information, as well as actively participate in submitting effective proposals to insure these programs will be utilized.  Please take a moment to review the links below and refer to the information when submitting your proposal.

 * Applicants applying under the RUS Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) are not required to purchase materials that are listed on the "RUS LIST OF MATERIALS Acceptable for Use on Systems of USDA Rural Development Telecommunications Borrowers - IP 344-2"; however, RUS strongly recommends that applicants utilize this list.

 

To apply for Recovery Act Broadband funds:

   There are two parts to the application process.  You will be required to enter your application data and for Infrastructure grants draw your proposed service areas.  In order to ensure the security of your information when completing these two tasks, you will be required to obtain credentials by registering for identification.
