announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Winncom Technologies Corp.,
and BDT Telecom, located in the Republic of Kazakhstan, have entered into a
written agreement that establishes terms by which Winncom may continue to
supply Wi-Fi and other telecommunication and networking equipment to BDT
Telecom for the construction of part of Kazakhstan's wired and wireless
telecommunications systems.
Although the recently signed agreement does not commit BDT Telecom to any
additional purchases, based on discussions to date and previous 2002 sales to
BDT Telecom, Winncom anticipates up to $5 million in additional orders from
BDT Telecom.
Included in the solutions to be provided to Kazakhstan are wireless LAN and
WAN products, network infrastructure, voice over internet protocol (VoIP)
products, and software, as well as installation support and training.
As announced in May of this year, Winncom signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Uzbek Agency of Post and Telecommunications of the
Republic of Uzbekistan. Shortly thereafter, Winncom began delivering a broad
range of components, approximately $300,000 in total to date, in Uzbekistan to
be used in advanced high-speed voice and data services across its entire
network.
